2006-07 Season Yearbook

San Antonio finished second to Dallas in their division, but methodically disposed of every playoff opponent enroute to their 4th title in 8 years. Dallas played .800 ball in the regular season, then was stampeded in the first round by their ex-coach's running squad from Golden State. Elsewhere in the strong West, Phoenix had title hopes but was also bounced from the playoffs. Denver traded for "the Answer" at mid-season but still didn't have all the pieces.
In the East, defending champ Miami looked older and beatable, opening the door to perennial contender Detroit and rising squads from Chicago and Cleveland. Toronto was a surprising division winner. In the playoffs, Cleveland's King single-handedly willed his minions to the Finals before bowing to the well-tuned machine from San Antonio.
